As much as I love this quote, yoga teacher Steffy White has shown me its not always the case.. Sometimes the body needs to be stilled before we can still the mind.
Her Secret Sunday was my introduction to yin yoga and what better way than surrounded by candles, underneath the arches of Haggerston.
I had a vague idea of yin being about holding a select number of poses for longer than usual.. I had no idea of its healing effects. The idea of yin is to attain stillness and when the mind-chatter quietens down, space is created and we can finally see the roots of our problems.. And pull them out 🙂
