Lost Love

When you killed me

It was silent.

I stood before you

Speechless

Staring

At the heart you held in your hand

Still beating

Under those dead eyes

That mirror mine.

The moment lingers

Like your

‘Lost Love’

Where did you lose it,

Exactly?

Was it in my eyes?

Did the laser-light of my devotion

Blind you?

We laugh

And throw my heart

All over the floor

Walls

Blood splattered everywhere

Like we care!

Snow

White specks

Drift through the air

With indifference.

Carried by a breeze

They cannot comprehend

But they ride

Unquestioning

This rolling rhythm of life

In their hundreds

And thousands

Turning the sky white

Like a tight sheet

Pulled over the face of the world.

Doctor

I struck back

At the life you carved for me

Out of your heart of dead stone.

Struck back

With a vengeance

Feel my solid sword

Strike

Across every aspect of your authority

doctor

I spit out your pills

All over the floor

Strewn

Like dirty clothes.
